Program Description

The purpose of the Missouri Temporary Assistance Program is to provide assistance to needy families with children so that the children can be cared for at home. The program also is intended to reduce dependency by promoting job preparation, work and marriage. Funds may be used to prevent non-marital pregnancies and encourage the formation and maintenance of two-parent families. Temporary Assistance offers cash assistance to families.

Program Requirements

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of Missouri, either pregnant or responsible for a child under 19 years of age, a U.S. national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident, have low or very low income, and be either under-employed (working for very low wages), unemployed or about to become unemployed.
