There are some basic rules for getting MassHealth under the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Even if you or your family already have health insurance, you may be eligible if your family’s income is low or medium and you are a child under age 19.
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Massachusetts, under 19 years of age, not eligible for Medicaid, low to medium income and a U.S. national, citizen, qualified noncitizen and other noncitizens.
In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:
|Household Size*||Maximum Income Level (Per Year)|
Depending on your income level, you may have to pay a premium for coverage. Please see this state’s program information for details.
