Program Description

Medicaid is the state and Federal partnership that provides medical coverage to eligible needy persons. The purpose of Utah Medicaid is to improve the health of people in Utah who might otherwise go without medical care for themselves and their children.

Program Requirements

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Utah, a U.S. national, citizen, permanent resident, or legal alien, in need of health care/insurance assistance, whose financial situation would be characterized as low income or very low income. You must also be either pregnant, a parent or relative caretaker of a dependent child(ren) under age 19, blind, have a disability or a family member in your household with a disability, or be 65 years of age or older.

In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:

2 $21,892
3 $27,637
4 $33,383
5 $39,129
6 $44,874
7 $50,620
8 $56,365

*For households with more than eight people, add $5,746 per additional person. Always check with the appropriate managing agency to ensure the most accurate guidelines.
