The Youth Leadership Program fosters mutual understanding, respect, and civic engagement among young Americans and their international peers.
During the three-four week exchanges, students and educators participate in workshops, community service activities, team building exercises, meetings with community leaders, leadership development, and live with local host families.
Upon their return home, the students apply what they have learned to implement projects that serve needs in their communities.
All youth participants must between the ages of 15 and 18. Adult participants may be teachers, trainers, school administrators, and/or community leaders who work with youth.
Application details for this program may vary by country. Please visit the State Department’s Youth Leadership Programs information page and select your desired program location from the drop-down menu for complete eligibility requirements and application information.
