Program Description

Kid Care CHIP is Wyoming’s Children’s Health Insurance Program. The program is designed to provide health, vision and dental insurance to Wyoming’s children and teens through the age of 18. To be eligible, children must be uninsured and meet income and eligibility guidelines.

Program Requirements

In order to qualify, children must be Wyoming residents, U.S. Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents who have lived in the U.S. for five years or more, age birth through the age of 18, and meet income guidelines. Children cannot have other health insurance, be dependents of state employees, University of Wyoming employees or State Community College employees and cannot be in an institution. (There are some exceptions to the health insurance criteria).

In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:

4 $49,200
5 $57,560
6 $65,920
7 $74,280
8 $82,640

*For households with more than eight people, add $8,360 per additional person. Always check with the appropriate managing agency to ensure the most accurate guidelines.
