Established by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Disaster Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) supports SAMHSA’s efforts to prepare states, territories, tribes, and local entities to deliver an effective mental health and substance abuse (behavioral health) response to disasters.
The SAMHSA collaborates with states, national and local community-based and faith-based organizations, and public and private sector providers, to ensure that people with or at risk for a mental or addictive disorder have the opportunity for a fulfilling life that includes a job, a home, and meaningful relationships with family and friends.
The SAMHSA websites listed below provide documents and resources for any person with or at risk for mental and substance abuse disorders as the result of a disaster.
