Program Description
The Special Milk Program (SMP) was established to encourage consumption of fluid milk by children in public schools, child care centers, after-school-hours child care programs, summer camps, and similar non-profit institutions devoted to the care and training of children. The SMP is part of the Bureau of Nutrition Programs and Services, which provides educational leadership and services that promote health and nutrition education for all citizens through quality nutrition programs in New Hampshire schools and institutions.
Program Requirements
Any child in a school or institution that participates in the Special Milk Program can get milk. Schools may elect to offer free milk to low-income children. In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of New Hampshire.
In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:
