Program Description

The National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs offer meal reimbursement on an income-based sliding scale for public and non-public school students. Schools approved by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education or residential childcare facilities may apply for participation in the School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.

Program Requirements

In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Louisiana and a parent or primary caregiver responsible for a child(ren) who attends school (high school or under).

In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:

1 $22,459
2 $30,451
3 $38,443
4 $46,435
5 $54,427
6 $62,419
7 $70,411
8 $78,403

*For households with more than eight people, add $7,992 per additional person. Always check with the appropriate managing agency to ensure the most accurate guidelines.
