Program Description
Washington Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) services are provided to the public through a network of 26 local community-based nonprofit organizations and local municipalities. Services include energy assistance, client conservation education, furnace repair and replacement, and weatherization. Energy assistance benefits are paid directly to energy providers and are based on a portion of a household’s annual home heating costs.
Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Washington and your household must pay for home heating costs (either directly or through rent).
In order to qualify, you must have an annual household income (before taxes) that is below the following amounts:

A person who participates or has family members who participate in certain other benefit programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or certain needs-tested Veterans benefits may be automatically eligible.
