Program Description

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program provides supplemental foods, nutrition education, and referrals to health care, at no cost, to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are determined to be at nutritional risk. The goal of the WIC program is to decrease the risk of poor birth outcomes and to improve the health of children during critical stages of growth and development. The WIC program of Pennsylvania is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Division of WIC.
