The Training Assistance program defrays travel and per diem expenses of state, local and tribal emergency management personnel who attend training courses conducted by the Emergency Management Institute, at the Emmitsburg, Maryland facility; Bluemont, Virginia facility; and selected off-site locations. Its purpose is to improve emergency management practices among state, local and tribal government managers, in response to emergencies and disasters. Programs embody the Comprehensive Emergency Management System by unifying the elements of management common to all emergencies: planning, preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery.
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be or have been either a firefighter or an emergency response worker, and you must be a current or prospective student of Emergency Management.
